We have chosen this yellow as it similar to the colour of the subway and it is not too bright.

update : we changed the yellow to an orange this was because it clashed with the white. 

This is our plan for our  CD album and decided to use a similar style to ed sheerans with the X and we also decided the colour scheme of our album which is yellow , black and white.

Planning and Research For CD and Advert ; Audience Feedback

We pitched our print product ideas to our class which was useful as they suggested that we should take a studio shot rather than a location shot but  we told them that it would be difficult for us to arrange the shoot since the actor has school . However the audience liked the colour scheme black , yellow and white as it similar to Ed sheerans cover. A suggestion was for the actor to look away from the camera to portray him being lonely which was linked to our advert case studies Adele 21 and Ed sheeran.

Task 7 : Final Edit

Kellyan added transitions to the scenes so it blends in with one another and making sure that there was no gaps between each scene an all the footage's were placed.

Task 6 : Day 2 Filming

- Today was the only day were we could film all our footage due to being behind with the task and we did complete the filming . We decided to go to hackney downs park but it became dark and  we needed places with lights and found a subway and got different shots of him standing still and lip syching to the last few verses. We also did another flashback which was at a cafe bench and went to the 'memorial bench'.

Audience Feedback: Rough cut of the music video

We presented our video to the class but it was not completed due to our shoots being cancelled as the actor was busy. What we received from the feedback  was the flashback which they liked because of the smooth transition when it goes into black and white. We also got feedback on his lip synch which was not clearly shown this was helpful for us as for the next shoot we will make sure that it is clearly shown and knew the lyrics well. Additionally they liked the subway location but they felt that one of the shots were too long this was because  during editing we noticed that his lip synch was unclear in other shots,

Task 7 : Editing Music Video 3

since we were behind with our filming it wasted our class editing time so we had to book extra session. In this session Mumina added black and white filter for it to look like a flashback. We also wanted the shots to change after each beat which was difficult as some were too quick or slow or did not match.

Practice Using The Camera

 Since we had problems with finding reliable actors we decided to experiment with the camera to refresh our mind in how to use the camera. This was helpful as we learnt about the shutter speed, ISO ,focusing at still objects and making sure that it is not over exposed.

Task 7 : Editing Music Video 2

During this session we colour corrected again as we could not see the actors face clearly and we decided not to expose the footage it as it made it look grainy. We also added other scenes in different part of the verse to see if there was any gaps in between which their was so we needed to film more footage.

Task 7 : Editing Music Video Day 1

During editing we looked over all our shots and placed the best ones to edit .looking over our shots and matching the best ones to the shots on the story board. We only edited the first verse as that was the only footage where he lip synched which was difficult synching the soundtrack since his mouth was not moving enough. Additionally the lighting of the subway changed when it was a profile shot so we used the colour corrector to fix this problem.

Shooting Cancelled

We were supposed to film on the 1st November but it was cancelled because of the weather as it may damage the equipment.

Our first day of filming went well but we was not able to film enough footage's because there was not enough memory in the camera as well as an extra battery therefore we planned out what we are going to do on the day rather then wasting time.

Task 6 : First Day Of Filming

26/10/14 - We started it off at stroudley walk filming him walking but not lip-synching which was a mistake as when it came to editing we realized the video would had looked better if had lip synched.

We then moved on filming at bromley-by-bow to film the estate building and the shop. We filmed many times to get different shot. The actor only lip-synched the first verse and the chorus because he did not know the rest of the lyrics properly.

The next location was the subway which was not in our recess but we decided to film their for extra footage in case our other location e.g cafe does not work out. Moreover filming at the canal did not go well as it started to rain and there was no benched so we found a park that was near and decided to film there instead of  going to hackney downs park as it would waste time.

Additionally while filming the memory space got full which made filming end much earlier than we expected.

Update of film shooting

Today we was suppose to do our first shooting of the estate and the streets but it was cancelled due to the male actor being busy and having rehearsal elsewhere which finished around 6. we have not decided on a specific date on when we will be shooting again.

Group chat 2

We made a group chat with the male actor who will be featured in our music video. We gave him an idea of what he will be doing in each scene and to learn the lyrics of U.N.I.

Our first shooting will be on the 18th October.we discussed about to capture different camera shots and the items that would be needed on the day such as the hairband , drink , paper bag etc.

In this chat we made sure the pictures of the location had been taken of and made it clear who will definitely bring which prop for the filming.

Update

Today we was sorting out the pre production task.We had a check list which helped us what was needed to be completed and uploaded. We printed out the risk assessment and gave each other roles and decided to use Powtoon for our recces.

Auditions

Today there was many students who turned up to audition to be part of the music video or the short film. we told them about the music video and what we wanted them to do however no male students turned up which was not great for us as we were not able to see the chemistry between the guy and girl but one girl wanted to be in the music video and knew a boy that would be in video with her.

Update

The boy had work during Saturday and Sunday and had rehearsal during most of the weekdays after college therefore we decided to look for another guy.
